The Carver School of Visual and Performing Arts (CSVPA) provides community-based arts classes, summer camps, master classes, and artist residencies, which offer children and adults an opportunity to explore a variety of art forms: dance, music, theater, the visual arts and more. With an emphasis on the preservation and celebration of African and African-American art forms, the Carver Community Cultural Center is in a unique position to provide artistic and cultural experiences that celebrate diverse cultures and interests.
Art Lab sessions
Art Lab sessions provide an eclectic mixture of fun, inspired and educational six-week courses in the visual, performing and cultural arts. Sessions occur four times a year, with classes offered Saturday mornings.
Fresh Options, Familiar Faces
Small class size and caring, professional arts educators offer students individualized attention and the ability to learn at their own pace. Semester schedules subject to change. Available courses, times, descriptions published online each quarter during enrollment period.
Youth Matinee Series
This series of free, multicultural and multidisciplinary performances have ignited imaginations, broadened minds and expanded knowledge by introducing generations of audiences to the diverse cultures and art forms of our global community.

Performing Arts Camps
The Carver’s performing arts camps in musical theatre, dance and music production are the season’s hottest tickets, popular with both kids and parents.
Setting the Stage
Taught by professional instructors, each experience is designed to encourage creativity, build self-confidence, and promote positive personal growth.
Artist Residencies and Master Classes
In addition to performances, the Carver provides opportunities for community members to connect and interact with local and visiting artists from around the world.
Enriching Experiences

Outreach
The Carver’s Arts Education program offers public speakers and performances/demos from our roster of art instructors to market and promote the Carver.
