In accordance with the Declaration of Public Health emergency issued by Mayor Ron Nirenberg, the City of San Antonio is restricting all public gatherings of 50 people or more effective immediately for the next seven days. Therefore, we are postponing all performances of Hiplet Ballerinas scheduled for this Friday, March 20, 2020. This includes the Youth Matinee scheduled for 11:00 am, as well as the 8:00 pm public performance.

We are working with the artists’ representation to find a future date for rescheduling the event. We encourage all ticketholders to please retain their tickets as they will be honored for the new date. We will provide more information about the status of the event as soon as possible.

Currently, this is the only postponed event in the Carver’s season. However, as new information and directives become available that might impact additional performances we will provide updates accordingly.

This is a rapidly changing situation and we appreciate your understanding and patience as we all navigate this unprecedented time. Should you have any ticket-related questions, please call our box office at 210-207-2234. For general inquiries, please call 210-207-7211.

The safety of our patrons, artists, staff and partners is of the utmost importance and we are taking all necessary precautions. We will continue to act accordingly under the guidance of our public health and government officials. In the meantime, we encourage you to practice self-care and take precautions to remain healthy and safe.

We appreciate your continued support and look forward to welcoming you back to the Caver Community Cultural Center in the very near future.

“Hiplet, generally danced to pop music, is more concerned with earthiness. It has soulfulness, too.”

Specifically designed to make ballet accessible to all, Hiplet™ is a fusion between classical pointe technique, hip-hop, and a variety of other urban dance styles. Hiplet™ has blossomed immensely since its creation by Artistic Director Homer Hans Bryant in the early 90’s. Performances may incorporate the rhythms of African drums with Tchaikovsky, arabesques and beat-boxing or even tango en pointe – all while showcasing Hiplet’s trademark sass, hip movements, and struts against popular music audiences will recognize from Black Violin to Beyonce.

After going viral on Homer Bryant’s Instagram in 2016, Hiplet™ has received recognition worldwide, with appearances in Germany, France, Spain, South Korea and Hong Kong. With Mercedes Benz, Vogue’s Anna Wintour, New York and Paris Fashion Week, W Magazine, Versace, and Old Navy to name a few, have culminated in an incredible worldwide demand for a live show featuring Homer Bryant’s innovative technique.
