It’s obvious that we are entering a period of major political upheaval and instability. This Black August, join renowned activist, author and journalist Eugene Puryear of BreakThrough News as he tours five Texas cities to discuss what Black America should do as we head into the potentially explosive 2024 election.
More Black people live in Texas than any other state. When it comes to Black freedom, we are told that our options are limited to a vote for Harris or for Trump, and affiliation with a blue or red political block, both led by ruling class elites and committed to exploitation and Empire. But is that true? Is there really no strategic vision outside of the two-party status quo?
Growing numbers of people are frustrated by the two-party revolving door that seems incapable of delivering transformative change and simply leads us farther to the right. Many are starting to look at third party alternatives like Claudia De la Cruz, Cornell West and Jill Stein, searching for candidates that represent their actual politics and the politics of the social movements they are a part of and believe in.
