The San Antonio African American Community Archive & Museum will host a film screening exploring their groundbreaking service, followed by a panel discussion on how the treatment of women in the military has evolved.

The Six Triple Eight: In February 1945, the U.S. Army deployed the Six Triple Eight—855 women from the Women’s Army Corps—to England and France to clear a massive mail backlog during WWII. As the only predominantly Black female battalion to serve in Europe, they faced racism and sexism even within their ranks.

Doors Open  at 5:30 PM,  film begins at 6 PM
