Tomorrow will be Sunday

March 26-28, 2026 | 8pm

Little Carver Theatre

Powerful! Impassioned! Vivid! Memorable!

Tomorrow Will Be Sunday is a bold, inventive play exploring why we move—and the costs of survival. Blending theatrical storytelling with themes of migration and global economics, it challenges us to reconsider human value by examining what we choose to value. From border towns to heartland supermarkets, the play infuses emotion and theatricality into data, painting a sweeping vision of a world in motion and our daily impact on it.

Conceived and written by internationally acclaimed playwright Heather Raffo, known for her poetic, community-driven works addressing urgent contemporary issues. Born in the Midwest to an Iraqi immigrant father, Raffo’s creations span military communities, migrant populations, and major cultural institutions—from the Arab American National Museum in Detroit to The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

Part of a larger play cycle developed across multiple cities, Tomorrow Will Be Sunday premieres at The Carver with a unique season crafted specifically for San Antonio. Featuring live music, soaring vocals, and a cast of local and international artists, this deeply personal yet globally resonant work invites audiences into a powerful dialogue about movement, survival, and belonging.

“Heather Raffo is a singular and outstanding voice in American theater whose work has been championed as “an example of how art can remake the world.”
