As a former athlete, her basketball coach saw unlimited potential in her musical calling and bestowed upon her the name “34K”; a combination of her jersey number and the first letter of her name. 34K’s cover of “I Like That” caught the attention of renowned superstar Janelle Monae on Glamour’s “Watches Fan Covers on YouTube” series, earning her justified praise and attention on the world-wide web.
