SUMMARY:Joe McBride & The Texas Rhythm Club
DESCRIPTION:Musical Transformer\nKeyboardist and singer\, Joe McBride began playing the piano at age four. His earliest influences were Gospel\, Bebop\, Jazz\, Motown\, 70’s R&B and Funk. Stricken with a degenerative eye disease as a teenager which eventually claimed his sight\, McBride’s passion for music only grew stronger. “Smokin” Joe as he is often referred has recorded several albums and is a consummate entertainer. McBride has been the opening act for Whitney Houston\, Larry Carlton\, Yellowjackets and countless other jazz and pop stars. His audience has steadily grown\, making him a favorite in Europe and especially Spain. \nMcBride has also participated in internationally recognized recordings such as “Diamonds On The Souls Of Her Shoes” along with Melissa Ethridge and on Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s Grammy nominated Long Walk To Freedom. He recorded the classic African jazz anthem “Mannenberg” along with guitarist/vocalist Jonathan Butler on the album Smooth Africa. Joe McBride has a lot to say. His shows demonstrate his amazing soulful ability to sing and play the piano at a very high-level and connect with an audience.

DESCRIPTION:“Children musical performance based on the book by the Swedish writer Jan Olof Ekholm “Tutta Carlson First and only\, Ludwig the Fourteenth\, etc.” in Russian Language. \nIn the fox family lives a small fox Ludwig\, the fourteenth in the genus Larsson. The youngest in the family\, he feeds the organic aversion to lies\, cunning and tricks\, which are taught by the beast in the forest school\, but he loves poetry and even tries to compose songs. Unable to withstand lies\, Ludwig leaves school\, and then runs away from home. Accidentally\, he comes to human habitation\, where he finds new friends: the writer of the poems Maximilian and the charming Tutta Carlson\, who lives in the henhouse. \nTutta and Ludwig become inseparable friends\, the nobility and honesty of the fox rescues the chicken coop from the raid of the fox family\, and Tutta’s trick allows deceiving the hunters who raided the fox. SUMMARY:Rennie Harris Puremovement’s Lifted
DESCRIPTION:Loosely based on the story of Oliver Twist\, Lifted is premised on the narrative of a band of B-Boys(thieves/pickpockets). The house community or church attempts to avoid this band of pick thieves by casting them aside and labelling them all as bad with no hope of redemption. This presentation addresses disappointment\, the pain of revenge and forgiveness. \nHarris’ Lifted features a live choir in addition to the stunning dancers of Puremovement. This highly theatrical\, narrative work merges the spiritual vocals of gospel with the powerful rhythms of house music and dance to explore contemporary issues of morality and spirituality.

DESCRIPTION:Fearless & Virtuosic Playing\nGrammy®-nominated artists Alfredo Rodríguez and Pedrito Martinez first worked together on Alfredo’s 2012 release Invasion Parade. Since that initial recording session they have had the rare occasion to perform together as a duo\, leaving audiences completely mesmerized by their fearless and virtuosic playing. Each artist brings a different approach to the collaboration. A protege of Quincy Jones\, who took him under his wing when he defected to the US in 2009\, Alfredo was schooled in the rigorous classical conservatories of Havana. \nHis riveting artistry is informed as much by Bach and Stravinsky as it is by his Afro Cuban and jazz roots. Pedrito’s musical training came directly from the streets of the Cayo Hueso neighborhood of Old Havana in which he was raised and he has subsequently performed with artists such as Sting\, Paul Simon\, and Wynton Marsalis. Together\, these two master musicians take listeners on a unique and exciting journey.

DESCRIPTION:The Soul of Black Perú\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKnown world-wide as the voice of the Afro-Peruvian community\, the 74-year-old Baca won a Latin Grammy in 2002 for the album Lamento Negro\, which she recorded nearly two decades earlier in Cuba. Baca’s most recent recording “Afrodiaspora” is a song cycle comprised of the various rhythms that the African diaspora is responsible for in places across the globe. Of her new release\, music critic Jim Fusilli of the Wall Street Journal comments\, “Susana Baca delivers what is likely the sweetest and most appealing lesson in ethnomusicology we’ll ever enjoy.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBaca has been an outspoken advocate for the Afro-Peruvian community for decades. In 1987\, she was named Cultural Ambassador of Goodwill for UNICEF Peru. She has served as a director and supporter of non-profit cultural organizations\, including her own Black Continuum Institute in the town of Chorrillo. The center’s mission is to foster the collection\, preservation\, and creation of Afro-Peruvian culture\, music\, and dance.

With the group members consisting of Vtown\, Tre\, Mac\, and Lowkey\, their main focus is to bring unity to the world\, one crowd at a time. \nTylur Starks received the Runner Up placement in the competition and will open for Real Mus-IQ. Tylur has performed at various events throughout the state.

DESCRIPTION:Althea René has developed her own creative style. She is a full-time performing and recording artist; some regard her as a “master of her craft” and one of the world’s most exciting solo improvisational flutists. She released her fifth project In The Flow (2013). Collaborating with GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Michael Broening\, (producer for legendary icons George Benson and Paul McCartney) she co-wrote the title track. That single became her biggest hit and reached number one ranking on both the Billboard Chart and the Smooth Jazz Chart. Althea Rene made history by becoming the first flute player in the history of Billboard Chart to reach the number one spot. In 2017\, she delivered the 1st single release “Gypsy Soul” from her scorching CD\, Unstoppable.
