Saturday, December 8, 2007 8PM $26 Kuumba House Dance Theatre's reverberating syncopations permeate the concert hall as this company of vibrant dancers and musicians deliver, with precision, exciting traditional ceremonial and contemporary dances of South Africa and Uganda. The company performs for audiences of diverse cultural, economic and social backgrounds including special-needs populations. As a performer, choreographer and dance educator, Kuumba House Dance Theatre's founder and artistic director, Lindi Yeni, is one of the most requested South African artists in the U.S. The dance company has performed for several dignitaries such as the Honorable Nelson Mandela, a recipient of the Humanitarian Award from the Baker Institute at Rice University in Houston, Texas.
